Lesson Plan

Weekly Lesson Plan (from Sample Timetable):

Week 1:

  • Monday - Introduction to Fashion Design: Safe use of Fashion equipment and machinery.
  • Tuesday - Introduction to sewing room and sewing machines. Sewing machine practice.
  • Wednesday - Introduction to Draping and Modeling. Methodology of draping.
  • Thursday - Continue Deconstruction/Reconstruction project.
  • Friday - Continue developing ideas for 2D and 3D design and development within the sketchbook.

Week 2:

  • Monday - Recap of Week 1. Introduction to Project 2: Fashion Geometry. Small group work.
  • Tuesday - Using textiles to design. Draping, research.
  • Wednesday - Start toiling and construction of prototype. Demonstrations: invisible zip, industrial overlocker, hem finishes, binding.
  • Thursday - Recap of Wednesday’s session. Continue creation of prototype.
  • Friday - Finalize project. Photograph, Annotate, develop. Share final project with other students. Course certificate presentation.
