Discover the vibrant Summer Camp, tailored for students aged 13-17 with an intermediate or higher English proficiency.

  • Since 1968, this camp has been a gateway to the prestigious world of Cambridge University, offering a unique blend of education and adventure.
  • Each week, students dive into 20 lessons (15 hours) of engaging General English, enriched with themes revolving around the illustrious history and culture of Cambridge University.
  • Topics range from profiles of notable alumni, sports traditions, groundbreaking scientific achievements, to comparative studies with other world-class universities.

Accommodations

The course residences:

  • Central accommodation in comfortable and secure buildings

  • Staff living on-campus, providing 24-hour supervision

  • Single bedrooms

  • Private en-suite bathroom and shower

  • All meals included at school or the residences

  • Free laundry facilities – you must do your own washing, but at no extra cost

  • A change of bed linen once per week

  • All residences are all located 5 or 10 minutes’ walk from the school and 10 to 20 minutes’ walk from the center of Cambridge.

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided at residences with hot, cold, and vegetarian options. Special diets accommodated. Packed lunches on weekends.

  • No consumption or possession of alcohol (irrespective of age).

Excursions

Includes one full-day excursion per week, on a Saturday.

Windsor (July 6 & August 17, 2024): Visit Windsor Castle, with souvenir shopping time.

London (July 13, July 27, August 10 & August 24, 2024):

  • First-time visitors: Walking tour of St Paul’s Cathedral, Millennium Bridge, Shakespeare’s Globe, London Eye, Big Ben, Horse Guards Parade, Trafalgar Square, St James’ Park; shopping on Oxford Street.
  • Repeat visitors: Visit the British Museum and Covent Garden; on August 10 & 24, alternative special excursion for those who've seen both sets of sights.

Peterborough & Ely (July 20, 2024): Tour of Peterborough Cathedral, Queensgate Shopping Centre, and ancient city of Ely.

Warwick Castle (August 3, 2024): Explore medieval Warwick Castle, including jousting, falconry, and castle grounds.

Transportation

  • Airport Transfers: Included for Heathrow and Stansted arrivals/departures on Sundays.

  • Arrival/departure time: Arrive by 20:00 on Sunday before course; depart on Sunday after course.

  • Aim for 14:00-17:00 on Sunday at accommodation.

  • For transfers to or from Gatwick or Luton airports on Sundays a supplement is charged.

  • Inform us if arranging your own transfer to accommodation.

  • Our team meets you at the airport, with transport to accommodation.

  • Unaccompanied Minors (UM): Check airline rules for under 18 travel; provide our contact details.

  • Travel Rules for Under 18s: Verify country-specific travel consent requirements. Parental Consent is required for under 18s traveling without parents.

  • Contact emergency phone if difficulty finding our representative.

  • Possible one-hour wait at airport for group assembly.

  • Journey From Airport: Be prepared for a non-stop journey; no toilet stops.

  • Delayed Flights: We monitor flights; representative will wait.

  • Morning Lessons (09:00-10:30): Topics on Reality TV with focus on reading and writing.
  • Late Morning Lessons (11:00-12:30): Films-themed English communication with emphasis on speaking.
  • Afternoon Activity (14:00-15:30): Walking tour of Cambridge city centre.
  • Evening Activities (19:30-21:00): Engaging in quizzes, games, and arts & crafts.

Extras

  • Gatwick Airport Transfer: 215 GBP/one-way for a car to Cambridge.

  • Pocket Money Advice: Students should bring about £80 per week for personal expenses like souvenirs and snacks. For younger students at residential camps, it's advised to deposit money in the 'school bank' for safekeeping, accessible at set times.
