You will probably be sharing a bedroom and bathroom with other students, unless you have specifically booked an en-suite or single room.

Your room-mates might be students from different coun­tries, which is a great way to make new friends and have fun. If you have requested to share a room with friends or family, we will do our best to accommodate this if we are given enough notice. Bedrooms and bathrooms will be sepa­rated by gender and will be on different floors or areas of the building, and you may only visit your designated space.

Meals

All of your meals will be provided as part of your stay at the school: breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of your stay. During full day excursions, you will be provided with a packed lunch to take with you which will include a bottle of water. You may find the food at your school might be different to what you eat at home, but we serve a wide variety of dishes for all tastes and you’re sure to find some­thing you like on the menu.

Meal times can vary slightly depending on the day and cen­tre, however, they are usually served at the following times:

**Breakfast: **08:00—08:45 **Lunch: **12:30—13:15 **Dinner: **18:00—19:00

We can cater for most dietary needs and offer a vegetarian option every day. If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make arrangements for you.

-Half day excursions may include: Dover Castle, Canterbury Cathedral, Margate beach and the Turner Gallery -Full day excursions may include: London, Cambridge, Brighton -Optional excursions may include: Dreamland (World’s first heritage theme park!), Leeds Castle, London

Summer Centres are proud to be able provide a comprehensive arrival and departure transfer service to all of its students. Our dedicated transfers department is more than able to handle all requests and our record of customer service and satisfaction is exemplary. The options below will provide more information on the most important aspects of our transfer service.

SHARED TRANSFER SERVICE

Students that book a shared transfer arrival service will be collected at the airport by a member of our staff or one of the school’s fully licensed and trusted courier companies. Students will be met at their arrival gate and will be grouped with other students that have chosen the shared transfer service. Students will be accompanied at all times by a member of staff during any waiting time spent at the airport (a maximum of 3 hours).

Students that book a shared transfer departure service will be taken to the airport by one of the school’s fully licensed and trusted courier companies. Students will be grouped with other students that have chosen the shared transfer service, taken to their departure gate and helped to check in for their flight. Students will be accompanied at all times by a member of staff during any waiting time spent at the airport (a maximum of 3 hours).

INDIVIDUAL TAXI SERVICE

Students that book a taxi arrival service will be collected at the airport by a member or our staff or one of the school’s fully licensed and trusted private car companies. Students will be met at their arrival gate and taken directly to their host family or private accommodation.

Students that book a taxi departure service will be taken to the airport by one of the school’s fully licensed and trusted private car companies. Students will be taken to their departure gate and helped to check in for their flight.

Our summer English courses are designed to give students the opportunity to practise their English in a friendly, multicultural environment. Students are actively encouraged to practise their English with students from other nationalities, both in class and outside. We concentrate on raising their confidence and fluency, and bringing out the English they already know, but can’t yet use. At St Lawrence we operate a zig-zag programme where students can have activities in the morning and classes in the afternoon which then change the next week. About our courses:

• Five levels from Elementary to Advanced
• All students are tested on arrival to grade their spoken and written English to place them in the class of the correct level
• 15 hours of teaching per week from qualified teachers including project work to allow them to use their English creatively and learn more about British culture and history
• A certificate on completion of their course
• Full activity programme including 5 afternoon activities and 7 evening activities
• One half day excursion to local towns and cities
• One full day excursion to more prominent towns and cities further away
• St Lawrence operates a zig-zag programme, meaning classes can take place in the afternoon and activities in the morning. This is alternated throughout the student’s time

SUMMER BY THE BEACH

We make full use of the sandy beach within walking distance. On sunny days we take our students to the beach to play beach volleyball and build sand sculptures. We also offer walks around the scenic coastline.

DRUMMING

Make music and have fun in our summer drumming circle! Enjoy playing African djembe drums and other percussion instruments to make amazing music together as a group! Our drumming sessions are free for students at St. Lawrence College.
