Accommodations

  • Students are accommodated either at university residences located 5 minutes' walk from the main campus (Main Residences) or a 15-minute commute by tube (Alexander Fleming Residence)

  • Single rooms with private bathroom, arranged into flats of 5 – 8 rooms (Main Residences) or single standard rooms with 1:3 bathroom ratio, arranged into flats of 6 rooms (Alexander Fleming Residence)

  • Each flat shares a common room/ kitchen (not to be used for cooking)

  • 1 bed per room

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided every day.

  • Lunch and dinner are usually hot.

  • On excursion days students are given a packed lunch.

  • Some dinners will be off-site, depending on the program.

  • Vegetarian always available.

  • Others available on request.

Full-Day Excursions

Half-Day Excursions

  • Includes walking tours, Covent Garden, The Shard, various markets (Camden, Spitafields), River Cruises, museums and galleries (NHM, Science Museum, IWM, British Museum, National Gallery), Madame Tussauds, Tower Bridge Experience, and more!

Transportation

  • Students will be met at the airport by a guide or representative.

  • The guide may arrive up to 45 minutes after flight arrival.

  • If the guide is not found, students should visit the Airport Information Desk with their Transfer Confirmation Letter and remain calm inside the terminal.

  • Students advised to carry: Passport (Visa if needed), Letter of Consent to Travel, Booking confirmation letter, Transfer confirmation letter.

  • In case of flight delays or emergencies, call +44 7421 420 020.

  • Heathrow Shuttle service timings: Airport departure at midday, 3pm, 7pm; Centre departure at 6am, 10am, 1pm.

  • Students with parents/guardians must provide arrival/pick-up times in advance.

  • We will issue a document for completion before arrival; unaccompanied travel to/from campus is not allowed.

  • Arrival drop-off at the center: 3pm – 6pm

  • Departure pick-up: 9am – 11am.

  • Students studying in South Bank University will each need to independently pre-purchase an Oyster Card on the TFL website or use a contactless method of payment via a debit or credit card in order to travel on the London underground and buses.

Lesson Plan

  • Child assessed upon arrival for placement in an appropriate class according to age and English level.
  • Six learning levels available, from Beginner to Advanced.
  • 15 hours of English classes each week, learning thoughfun teaching methods including projects, games, and group work to boost confidence, collaboration, and communication.
  • Between 9.00 - 12.30 or 14.00 - 17.30
  • Teaching days: Thursday – Monday (morning or afternoon lessons)
  • A full program of organised activities, with a choice of 2 – 3 activities per session.
  • Minimum of two full-day excursions per week, including one entrance fee.

The syllabus includes:

  • Language input and language practice
  • UK or US culture lessons
  • Excursion preparation/ follow-up lessons
  • Online safety classes
  • Project lessons
  • There is also a weekly review of materials studied.
